Badges, Journeys, Awards

Well, I do have to start this with a confession. Loved the old badges, find the new ones with no variety and ...I just hate journeys.

Journeys

I find them to be too much like school work. My troop has done a few to try them out and the girls just do not them at all. They also don't like that they work for months before earning the thing. A badge they can earn in 1-2 meetings. They do not like the school work way it is written and have adapted it to death to make it more fun. Still, none of us are fans of this program and hope it goes away just like Studio 2B (don't get me started on how stupid that program was).

"Legacy" Badges, etc.

I just feel they took all the variety out when they switched to the new program. There are so few choices even when you buy the 'skill sets' that go along with the journeys. Once again hoping GSUSA realizes their mistake and goes back to what we had before.

Retired Badges

I am a big fan of these. My troop has a stockpile of retired badges and we earn these more than anything else. They had so many more choices for topics and are just more interesting. I love that everything GS is "once official, always official" so we can continue to do what we enjoy and are not strapped into a small list offered now.
