Parent Meeting

I have a parent meeting EVERY YEAR even though many of my parents have been with me for 7 years. Say it even if you have said it 50 times, some people need to hear things 6 times to finally get it.

I usually do mine at the 3 or 4th meeting. I have a co-leader and older girls do games or songs with the girls in one room while I meet with parents in another room at the other end of the church.

This is a sample of the speech, often with just a word or 2 to remind me what I am talking about next.

Uniforms- is her vest/sash/tunic

meetings-vest over play clothes

ceremonies-gs vest/sash w/pins, solid white shirt, tan bottoms

Events- we will wear our troop shirt and only wear vest if it is not a sweaty or messy activity

cookie booths-vest with jeans and our troop shirt

CLOSED TOE SHOES AT ALL GS FUNCTIONS including meetings,

parent attends meeting or event must also wear closed shoes.

Registration—now $___ a girl for the year due to council reg fee now coming into effect

Adult registration—parents are welcome to register with the troop for $15

and you will also be covered by GS insurance at all events

gsusa rule on adult reg—must register and be background checked in order to attend anything or if you drive to any gs event

Next year gsusa portion of reg goes up to $25 + council service fee of $___

Troop dues--$50 a year per girl which is for meeting supplies, admin supplies, badges,

patches, etc

sleeve—place checks and permission slips here and look for notes or due sheets there

permission slips —meeting prior to event

event fees—due on deadline or she will not attend

everyone on time accomplish -short time -late disrupt entire group

On time for pick up-meeting and events

Leaders are volunteers and have jobs, husbands, other children, PTAs, other interests,

and busy lives. Please be helpful when you can and appreciate what these ladies are

doing for your daughter.

Fall ceremony — is on ____________at 6:00 family is invited

Girls arrive 5pm for practice

Family at 6pm (will remain outside room until we are ready)

Cookies– Our cookie sale starts Jan 1 this year
